Geof,

I agree there - no heavy loads west of the Newell Highway from the Queensland border to Marsden (just south of Forbes) due to flooding. Even had a creek halfway between Dubbo and Narromine (which you may or may not have crossed on your way through) cover the road and the RTA closed it! There were many damaged roads around Dubbo - Bligh Street south of the Centro shopping centre to Macquarie Street and the Troy causeway on Yarrandale Road were two road areas to suffer major damage!

hi again joe we had aweek or so in dubbo 13 months ago when it was bone dry then we came thro' 18 days ago we (the navigator & me) have never seen such a change or so much flood damage we stopped at as many coffee outlets as we could spent a few bucks on refreshment had a chat (as u do) heart breaking for some folks even after a dry but most said they would get over it carry on again geof

Geof,

It was shocking - closed both the major shopping centres down for a week 3 weeks out from Christmas - it killed a lot of traders' incomes..... but what can ya do???
