Basic story - Hawlett haulage is hiring ballast drivers for a money-making scam and the drivers are forced to make dangerous runs in Dodge trucks at speed to fulfil the quotas.

We had one like this (the Humber Hawk, not the Austin Seven!):- HXN 592 - originally owned by Sir Simon Marks of M&S.
We acquired it from my Grandfather when he died and kept it until it was replaced by another Hawk KJR 202 (Cactus Green) and yet another RNL 369 (Beige and Burgundy). There was yet another with a D suffix registration (Burnt Almond metallic), but I can't recall the rest of the letters and numbers . . .

No, it was before I recommenced carrying a camera.

AFAICR it was outside the Vickers tank factory . . .

I stopped and had a look at it as it was 'unusual'. I was told it was a Land Rover.
