Checking In!

My first post, just to say hello.
I joined Leyland as a student apprentice in 1964 and stayed on until the end in 1993.
Travelled extensively in sales and marketing for Leyland and spent 17 years at the Leyland truck assembly and distribution company in Zambia.
Recently retired and came across this site when scouring the web for vintage truck & bus related sites.
Started collecting CV badges and related hardware and looking forward to meeting and conversing with others in the forum.

Jim

Welcome to Truck and Bus Forum, Tomdhu.

Leyland apprentices seem to have colonised the World - I know that the bus companies in Hong Kong were largely run by Leyland apprentices (at least as far as the engineering side was concerned).

I'm looking forward to reading some of your anecdotes about your times.

I joined Vauxhall in 1965 and ended up on the Bedford side.

Later (after leaving Vauxhall/Bedford in 1982) I travelled widely (being based in Denmark), visiting the bus companies in Singapore and Hong Kong, truck manufacturers in Scandinavia (well, Volvo) and the UK, as well as automatic transmission repairers in Australia and New Zealand and train operators in Australia.
