    Hi Guys,
Its finally here, we, SWMBO and I have turned off the embroidery machines for the final time! That of course means that in a few weeks our web site will also disappear. My Transport picture page has been piggy backed on that site so will also cease.

I am in the process of creating a new site, hence my absence from the forum recently. The site is partially open, and will develop further as time goes by. My new web address will be www.pageonemedia.me.uk and I invite you all to visit. Any constructive criticism will be welcomed.
    Regards

    Hi there,

I just wanted to wish you guys all the very best for Xmas and happy and safe new year.
As I type this I know you haven’t woken up to Xmas, but I can tell you we have a beauty.
I walked on the beach this morning with the 2 dogs and at 9am it was already quite crowded with people setting up BBQ’s and Xmas picnics. It is about 23 degrees and sunny, 2 to 3 knots on shore breeze and the pohutukawa’s (NZ’s Xmas tree) are in full bloom, and frankly, you couldn’t ask for more.
I am now just waiting for the cook to serve while I patiently wait, with a red in hand!.

All the best guys, look forward to another years photos and repartee.

    Mike

    Gidday Mr Tomcat,

Hope I haven't upset you with all our banter re AEC V Leyland.
I have to admit there is nothing like a bit of a wind-up.
But seriously the whole is a nightmare if you are an historian, I'd hate to unravel it.
Thinking back, I actually can't ever remember AEC actually being sold in NZ. Back then there were no Jappers, very very few Yanks, the odd Volvo or Merc, it was all British.
I do recall when the Ergo cabs first arrived here there, they looked so modern, like space age, after what had gone before, and I do recall you only ever heard them referred to as Leyland Ergomatics. I have no photos, but that does stick in my mind.
Obviously they must have decided that Leyland was the known brand

I can understand your annoyance at what's gone on, I get just as annoyed at the way the current owners just discarded ERF and Foden.
All my grandparents came form England so to me these trucks are part of my heritage also. And it makes me mad.
