Thanks very much, I have plenty to share after 47 years on the road, will be posting pictures and a few stories along the way.http://www.truckandbusforum.com/imag...lies/smile.gif

I spent the first 17 years of my working life starting as a vehicle component designer and then as a vehicle test engineer before moving into vehicle system design.
I then moved over to component suppliers serving as sales engineer to the truck manufacturers, so effectively supporting the sort of people that I had been before my change of position. This took me Worldwide (except the USA) including Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia and New Zealand (and even Taiwan) as well as the more usual Europe and Scandinavia.

I saw the demise of British brands such as Bedford, Commer Cars, Leyland Bus, Coles Cranes and parts of Dennis as well as smaller manufacturers of industrial dumpers and the like.

Those names which you quote have become iconic to the likes of us at our age, the young ones will not have to suffer them like we did, never the less they will be sadly missed, it's all part of our youth, just like the Volvos and Scanias of today will be a part of somebody elses life when they get old, sorry for the gloomy post bud, it must be the dreary weather...

Hello and welcome.

47 years, eh! I have some catching up to do. I've only got 35 years in, this coming January. Still, I don't plan on quitting any time yet.

Enjoy yourself, on here. We are a friendly bunch.
