Thanks Ian, a brilliant piece of film and great quality footage for the time. A few pedestrians taking liberties with the traffic and a lot more courtesy betwenn road users.

Fascinating!
Thanks. I was amused by the police standing in the middle of the road at 1.15 and 1.42. I also don't see overhead wires for the trams - there seems to be a central rail . . . I'd also suggest mid-30s. |

Very good quality film Ian and very interesting. Although I was not around at that time I would also say the mid 30s. The star of the show must be the Sugar co. driver.

It seemed to me to be a mixture between "I am going to slow down or stop" and "I am pulling out / turning right". On both occasions there was an obstruction on his inside.
I'll watch it again now . . . Sorry, just the one event. Last edited by G-CPTN; 4th May 2009 at 13:53. |

No three signals came from the truck, as he first appears, a quick ''I'm pulling out'' then his mate indicates 'Pulling left' as they over take the tram and the slow /turn left one
I think this has been digitally enhanced, the very smooth road surface, and the lack of sighting of the track. Ian

I am (still) intrigued by the lack of overhead wires for the trams - and the apparent centre-rail (which would be the pick-up for the electric supply?).
Any tramsters out there who can explain? |
