Do the Leyland engines have glow plugs or an air heater?

Hi
Apologies for posting on an old thread, but I guess the 401 isn’t getting any younger...
I have some Aveling Barford motor graders fitted with Leyland 401 engines and one is giving me a real headache! It is very hard starting and after sitting for a while (trying to find spares for another defunct brand (Aveling Barford), it now won’t start at all. It doesn’t appear to be fitted with the cold engine start button (which was also referred to in the Aveling Barford manual).
I sent the injector pump and nozzles off for a check/service and they changed the plungers in the pump saying they weren’t giving enough pressure, but still won’t start. Before I knock it down to change rings and grind the valves, does anyone have any other ideas?
BTW, does anyone know the injector nozzle pressure settings?
