canadian ford
when i was a young apprentice mechanic in 1958 we had a 7 ton canadian ford as a recovery vehicle with a
v8 petrol engine always remember the throttle was in between the clutch and brake (scarey) anyone remember them ? Last edited by dmackay; 27th October 2008 at 16:54. |

When I worked for Inter City Transport they had an Atkinson 8 Wheeler with a central pedal for the accelerator and later when I worked for Suttons I one day had to shunt a 5 pot ERF artic which had a central accelerator around London and yes it was scarey as I was only young and hadn't had my licence for very long, this was in the early 60's by the way. Mind you the other shunters who drove this vehicle never seemed to comment on this at all.
