I finally got around to a return to modelling (rather than just buying the occasional model.

Not wishing to attempt an OOB on my return to modelling, I decided to try some "easy"! I found this picture which at least still has the chrome strip under the cab door so less modifying required. Mine probably won't be the same colour, but at least it is something to aim for...

I attacked the cab with a Razor Saw. I needed to strengthen the roof to allow for some more accurate sawing. I made a template of the roof aperture and cut a piece of card to fit the aperture. I soon realised this was not a sensible option so trimmed the piece a little and glued it to the inside of the roof. Having got some more strength in the cab I trimmed closer to the door (allowing a gap so that I did not need to try to rescribe the door opening. I removed the raised part where the aero sleeper joined the top of the cab. Next step is to fill in the roof and make the channels.

This has taken about two hours "bodging" so far, plus some thinking time, over the space of about a month, so don't expect too rapid progress!

Hopefully I can maintain a decent image quality...
