Luckily this didn't happen to the last Leyland
This is a video of the end of an Alexanders 'Volvo' Olympian in Singapore.
Luckily the last Leyland bus built (also an Olympian operated by Singapore's SBS) was exported back to UK and is now preserved. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DhDC4mVooo8 |

I'm surprised that they didn't remove the engine and transmission - though maybe they were the reason that it was being scrapped.
Back when I was working in Hong Kong they removed the Gardner engines and reconditioned them until the were too far gone - at which stage they were sold as engines for Junks. I wonder if any of them are still working? |
