United Service 16 photos
Hi guys. Not a bus enthusiast but desperate to find pics of service 16 United bus which ran from Newcastle to Thropton in the early to mid 1960s.
Realise it's a long shot but thought I'd give this a go. Cheers. And if not here, does anyone have any ideas? |

Like United buses, there should be a driver along here soon.
Was Thropton served by single deckers or double deckers? There are many images on the interweb - use terms such as 'United Automobile Bristol ECW' to refine your search and L5G or K for single or double decker. |

Thanks for coming bcak. In my erarly years it was single deckers with the cab nextto the engine and the door behind both. (Half cab???)
Later they had single deckers of the first of the flat fronted buses where the which COULD (but didn;t at first) beconme pay as you enter vehicles. |

The half-cabs would be Bristol L5Gs,
https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=un...w=1141&bih=513 I'll leave it to our resident ex-United driver to identify the flat-front model(s). Might be Bristol MW:- https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=se...w=1141&bih=401 or Bristol RE:- https://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=e...OZHL0AX9t4CQCA Last edited by G-CPTN; 16th January 2013 at 22:18. |
