Bus Conversion
Afternoon all,
first time poster so be gentle ! long story short, became a bus driver for stagecoach in guildford a year ago, love the job. its been a long dream of mine to convert a decker bus to a motorhome. ive alsked around for information on this and get conflicting information from people regarding the catagory of the vehicle, when i came through training, i was on a single decker bus, with approximately 6 seats. however it was still registered as a bus, but did not take money or do any routes. now im under the assumption that in order to keep a bus registered as a bus it needs a certain amount of seats ? so how it is this can still be registered as a bus ? i ask because if its not a registered bus, it comes under a hgv and so you would need the qualifying license as opposed to a bus license ? basically, i want to buy a decker bus and convert it to a motorhome, i have been told by a few people i can keep it registered as a bus, could anyone shine some light on this for me please ? thanks |
