Bedford TK rear brake slave cylinder.

I am restoring a Bedford TK and I have just stripped my left rear brake slave cylinder, between the two seals there is a plastic ring? There wasn't one on the right side and I can't find one in the manual. Could any body shed any light on whether this is a standard part or not?
