leyland 680 power plus

]scammell highwayman 1964 with a leyland 680 power plus engine.
we fitted a new fuel filter and had a job to prime the fuel to the
injector pump.
anyone know the right way to do this and should the injector pump
be filled with oil, because it was dry.
