Question Thames Trader MKII Ignition Timing

I am working on a 5 ton Thames Trader with either a 508e or 528e 6 cylinder petrol engine and need to know what the static timing specification should be as the timing is out.

How do you tell the difference visually between the 508e and 528e 6 cylinder petrol engines? Is it the same engine but for different applications such as industrial or automotive?

See the following link for information on these engines:
http://www.absolutelyeverythingabout...erial-numbers/

The Thames Trader engine is different to the common Ford 300 cubic inch engine because the carby and exhaust are both situated on the LH side with the distributor located at the front RH side of the engine.
